A Glorious Day in America!

August 6, 2012

My friends, yesterday truly was a glorious day in America!

Massachusetts was honored to welcome a genuine American hero and Citizen Patriot, Congressman Allen West to our state.

Congressman West had the opportunity to experience first-hand the spirit, dedication and love of country that our forefathers held as they launched this country into its war for freedom.

At the North Bridge in Concord, Congressman West experienced the hallowed ground where the American Revolution began. He spoke at length with the park ranger who graciously walked with him over the bridge and back 237 years in American history.

From Concord, Congressman West then traveled over to the Lexington Battle Green.  It was here that a throng of supporters 400 strong were waiting to greet him.

As Congressman West Walked across the Lexington Green he looked up and got his first glimpse of the crowd that was waiting for him at Buckman’s Tavern.

The excitement in the air was palpable and the cheers of “USA! USA!” and “VP! VP!” were deafening!

Congressman West took the time to shake hands, take pictures and sign autographs for everyone who approached (lest anyone doubt it, this man is truly a Rock Star in the Conservative movement!).

After making his way back from Buckman’s Tavern the Congressman spotted an ice cream truck parked by the curb. Like any good American on a hot August day in Massachusetts, Congressman West wanted to stop and get himself a refreshment. But this was not any ice cream truck driver.   The man who owned this truck  was an Arabic Coptic Christian.  For obvious reasons, he loved Allen as much if not more than anyone else in attendance!

As Allen ate his ice cream, the owner of the truck pointed down to his young son.  He informed Allen that his boy would someday be a great man like Allen.

This moment  was indeed the American Dream personified for all to see.  Imagine this happening in front of the battle green which commemorates the very start of that dream!

My friends, this truly was a wonderful day, not just for Massachusetts but for America as well.

The torch has been lit! It us up to each of us to  carry it forward!

In freedom,

 Sam
