"PHONE MONKEYS" World Premiere w/ Live Filmmaker Q&A
+
"RESERVOIR DOGS"
Monday, April 11 - 8:00pm
Yankee Doodles, Long Beach
We are proud to present the world premiere of the short film PHONE MONKEYS by Long Beach-based filmmaker Jonathan Chauser!
Described by Chauser as a dark comedy where "a shy momma's boy dreams of more creative pursuits while languishing at a soul-sucking telemarketing job with a perpetually disapproving boss,"
Phone Monkeys has been a long-gestating labor of love for the filmmaker, and we are excited to bring his film to Yankee Doodles' expansive all-ages venue, boasting multiple screens, comfy leather couches, and a full restaurant and bar!
After the film's premiere, director Jonathan Chauser will be on hand, along with the film's cast and crew, to speak to the audience about his experience working on the film and as a local independent filmmaker. Then stick around - Chauser will be introducing a film he regards as a source of much personal inspiration, Quentin Tarantino's groundbreaking 1992 classic RESERVOIR DOGS!
At times violent, dramatic, and pitch-black hilarious,
Reservoir Dogs is a must-see for lovers of cinema, and particularly, the noted source of inspiration for countless independent filmmakers like Chauser who saw it as a shining example of what could be done with the right team, the right vision, and less money than one would think.
Independent Long Beach cinema and
Reservoir Dogs - all in one night, on over a dozen screens, and in the comfort of Long Beach's roomiest all-ages venue for great food, drinks, music, and cinema!
