In the heat of the fashion weeks, NJAL's Head of Designers Relations, Katri Salminen heads to vibrant and hot Barcelona on Monday. On a quest to look for the next generation of emerging designers, she will take part in the jury at Opera Prima ModaFAD, awarding the best emerging fashion designers. This event runs in conjuction with 080 Barcelona which showcases the region's nonpareil.

080 Barcelona Fashion
From the 10th-13th July, set in the heart of the Gothic quarter, in the Pla de Miquel Tarradell, 080 Barcelona Fashion will turn Barcelona into a benchmark for creativity and innovation. Five venues will host designers and their collections, allowing viewers to see the latest trends. The best designs the city offers will be shown worldwide.

Opera Prima - Modafad Barcelona
Opera Prima will take place on the 9th of July at Oceana, Plaza Real 13. Awarding young designers taking risks and experimenting in fashion. This jury will consist of industry experts including NJAL's Katri Salminen. The ModaFAD event consists of an international showcase of emerging fashion designers, promoting their experimental, avant-garde fashion.

AMSTERDAM
Amsterdam Fashion Week
The fashion week in Amsterdam takes place from the 11th-15th July at the former Gas Factories in The Westergasfabriek. Twice a year, fashion week is the central focus of the Dutch fashion world, with a schedule filled with catwalk shows, trade fairs, lectures and parties. Young as well as established designers will showcase their collections.

Our specially curated shop this week delivers pieces from Spanish designers. Ruiz Galan's San Vicente Raincoat is a digital print raincoat made of several layers of clouds with oversized sleeves and a gathered hood. Georgina Vendrell's Black Jacket may be worn in different combinations using the two straps to fit both center and bottom. Martin Lamothe is a high-end avant-garde fashion brand with design, print and textile research as main goals. She only works with prime European materials and the finest ateliers.
