For years, India has been known as an outsourcing services center but rarely as an inventor or early adopter of new technologies. Now, Indian entrepreneurs are beginning to break through in mobile communications, gaming, software, e-commerce, cleantech and social networking. Backed by seasoned venture capitalists and run by talented and energized founders, startups from India are gaining market leadership, reaching profitability, going global and heading for IPOs.
A high-level panel of venture capitalists and entrepreneurs discuss how India’s tech startups are poised to jump start to the next level, and set their own standards.  Can India startups become as high profile on the international stage as Baidu, Alibaba and Tencent?

- What is Software Products SiG by TiE Mumbai?
- An exclusive, by invitation only SIG, which will help you in the following ways:
- A community to foster building great software products.
- Peer group problem solving platform
- Knowledge sharing platform
- Community will aim to meet once a month.
- Event formats:
- Share your case study and seek feedback from peer group. Optional for group members.
- Occasional guest sessions from industry thought leaders, CXOs at multinationals at special venues
- Crowd source topics from the community and invite SiG members and experts to speak.
- Who Can Participate/What are the qualification criteria?
- Companies having commercially available software products (ready to buy)
- 1- 5 year old i.e. startups. The SiG is flexible about the age of enterprise.
- The revenue of your enterprise is predominantly from product sales and not from services around the product.
- Based out of Mumbai/Pune.
- Not a division of a large company OR an eCommerce website OR a content/media portal
- Once selected, only CXOs of these companies (preferably CEOs) will be invited to participate. No representation/proxies will be permitted.
- E.g. of Software products (to help you validate): Paper.li, flipboard, Basecamp etc.
- Open to TiE Members & Non Members
- If you are interested to join this group and your enterprise meets the aforementioned criteria, please fill this short questionnaire to apply.
- The Core Committee will select enterprises that meet the criteria and also complement each other as a group.
