Our Go Green BK calendar is bursting with fun and free/low-cost greentastic events, that celebrate and care for our beautiful world. Go birding, bike along Newtown Creek, craft seed bombs, get fit with zumba, and make eco-art for a climate parade. Take a tour of Ft. Greene Park’s Prison Ship Martyr’s Monument, a history hike of Gerritsen Creek wetlands, and an uplifting wellness walk. Learn about olla (sustainable watering), woodworking, and natural dyes. Score a free native tree. Enjoy an outdoor movie, Inside Out 2; a hilarious play about a flood sensor dreaming of stardom; chamber music at a boathouse, a bonsai workshop at your favorite local brewery, Creative Climate Awards 2025 and other Earth Day celebrations. Unwind with like-minded knitters and relax through nature bathing.

Celebrate spring with family egg hunts at Ashford Learning Garden and Nehemiah 10 Community Garden. Take your kiddos to spring break activities, Earth Day celebrations, outdoor shelter workshops, spring exploration hike, climate storytime, puppet shows, early nature experiences, tree workshop, and enviro STEM workshops at our local libraries: Eastern Parkway Library, Kensington Library, Saratoga Library, The Annex Library. Check out Cub Scouts Pack 7 (coed) for your elementary schoolers and Boy Scouts Troop 26 for your middle and high schoolers. Camping, cooking, fishing, hiking, volunteering, and more. They’re off this week for spring break but will be back next week to plan many camping trips. Join the fun!

Roll up your sleeves to help garden and clean up Asser Levy Park, Bushwick Inlet Park, Good Life Garden, Kingsland Wildflowers, Leif Ericson Park, Marine Park, St. Andrew’s Playground, Sunset Park, Under the K Bridge Park, Union Street Garden Garden, Vernon And Throop Community Garden, and Williamsburg streets.
