Taipei, Taiwan, March 28, 2018 – QNAP® Systems, Inc. will showcase its cutting-edge network-attached storage and AI (Artificial Intelligence) innovations at
AI EXPO, which will take place from April 4th, 2018 to April 6th, 2018 at Tokyo Big Sight (Tokyo International Exhibition Center) in Japan. Visitors to QNAP’s booth No.1-7 at AI EXPO will discover NAS and AI solutions designed to accelerate deployment of AI and machine-learning applications, including AfoBot and the TS-1277.
AfoBot: QNAP's first video companion robot
AfoBot is a companion robot designed for family and home assistance, and is powered by an Android™ 6-based operating system with up to 32GB of local data storage. Featuring voice interaction, face recognition and video calls, AfoBot helps foster easy communication, family care, entertainment, and daily life assistance, enhancing quality of life and providing greater communication opportunities at home. It also supports voice controls (currently available in Japanese, English, and Chinese) for multimedia and taking photos. With the
AfoTalk mobile app, mobile devices can be used to conduct video calls with the AfoBot at their home.
“AfoBot was designed with a focus on home environments. Featuring natural speech to extend ‘real-life’ interactions, it will help improve our lives in many potentially life-changing ways,” said Aaron Lee, Vice President of Consumer Solution Business Division of QNAP.
In the future, QNAP will provide our partners with more software development kits for AfoBot, allowing them to leverage AfoBot’s software and hardware advantages to develop more AI-based business applications.
QNAP TS-1277: the ideal NAS solution for empowering AI & machine learning applications
QNAP will also showcase the
TS-1277, a Ryzen™-based NAS with up to 8 cores and 16 threads (available with an AMD Ryzen™ 5 1600 or AMD Ryzen™ 7 1700). With support for a PCIe graphics card, the TS-1277 can deliver sufficient GPU processing power to efficiently facilitate AI and machine learning tasks. By deploying
QuAI (QNAP’s AI developer package) on the TS-1277, data scientists and developers can quickly build, train, and optimize AI models.
“QNAP aims to be a pioneer in the field of AI,” said Meiji Chang, General Manager of QNAP, adding “Machine learning AI incorporates big data, cloud computing, and powerful algorithms. QNAP solutions are capable of integrating all of these elements together to help organizations consolidate their applications and explore how AI and machine learning can provide them with advanced user experiences and greater business value.”
Also on display at the AI Expo will be solutions by QNAP’s partners: IEI and MoBagel. IEI will showcase the
Mustang-200, a high-performance computing accelerator equipped with two Intel® Core™ i5/i7 processors. The Mustang-200 PCIe card can boost the performance of your existing system that runs AI-oriented applications. MoBagel will demonstrate
Decanter AI, an AI-driven data solution that instantly powers existing data systems with automated predictive capabilities.
