It’s fun to play with bubbles, but did you know many animals use bubbles for protection or even to catch prey? Learn about bubbles in nature and then play at our bubble stations. We’ll top off the winter fun with a campfire and everything you need to make s’mores.
Join us anytime 10 am to 5 pm for the program, presented by Preserve educators. There's no set time for the program - it will be ongoing as folks arrive.
Admission is $3 per person/max $10 per family or FREE to members and includes parking & hiking. Visitors may hike one of the Preserve’s three trails that range in length from a stroll of .25 mi to a 1.7 mi loop trail around the lake.
Leashed dogs are welcome, but the trails do not accommodate strollers. Please arrive no later than 4 pm so you will have time to finish your hike before we close.
Directions: We are located off Douthit Bridge Rd, accessed only from Hwy 61 (between Cartersville & Dallas). Since our location is off the beaten path, many map programs do NOT provide accurate directions. Use the info on our Contact Us page. Or for GPS, use "Douthit Bridge Rd, Dallas, 30132", then follow signs.
Learn more about the harmless but the increasingly rare northern pine snake also known as a “bull snake” because of it’s ability to blow or hiss loudly. Presentations at 10:30 & 11:30 am.
May 11: Moms in Nature presented by Preserve Educators. Everyone knows moms are awesome, but in nature, moms have special challenges and dangers to overcome. Learn the lengths animal moms go to protect and nurture their young. Presentations ongoing 10 am to 5 pm.
Phase 1 of our new education building is complete! Once it is finished, the 3,700 ft faciity will allow us to host groups twice our current capacity and will have permanent educational displays. Best of all, our field trip and other programs will be less at the mercy of Mother Nature, as we'll have space to complete programs even it it rains or is very hot or cold.
We are seeking funding to complete the building through grants and also the support of local partners. If you would like to to partner with us, you can donate through this link:
All donations are tax deductible and will make it possible to reach more school children with environmental education and increase our outreach to the public on nature education.
