The pipes are calling, and the bold Scottish tribes will gather once again on Saturday, April 6 2019 for the annual Tartan Day Scottish Faire at Ardenwood Historic Farm in Fremont. Sponsored by the East Bay Regional Park District and the East Bay Scottish Association, Tartan Day at Ardenwood is always a colorful and enjoyable event for the whole family, whether you’re Scottish or not.
Throw on your kilt and celebrate Tartan Day with music, Scottish dancing, bagpipes, handmade crafts, historical re-enactments, and Highland athletics. Local Scottish clans and societies will share their rich culture and colorful heritage. Children can find magic and fantasy in the Children's Glen and might just see a fairy or dragon. Food and libations will tempt - enjoy a meat pie or other Scottish treat. Auction, live music from Golden Bough and the Peninsula Scottish Fiddlers, Celtic Candies and Cakes, and so much more!

VASEN IN CONCERT TUESDAY APRIL 9
Väsen will be performing as a duo at our concert on April 9th and likely for the whole of ther upcoming US tour, due to a visa issue.
"You can expect an almost complete Väsen experience. Not the same as with the full band present but something as good, only slightly different.
We play a lot as a duo when someone in the band isn't available. A common comment after a show with a duo show is: 'I really enjoyed hearing just the two of you! I heard more what was going on in the Guitar and the Nyckelharpa.'"
We will play a selection of the new tunes from our new "Rule of 3" that works well with a duo, and also since it's our 30 year celebration this year we will look back into the Väsen past and play some tunes that we still really like to play after all these years. Some of them originally recorded by Väsen as a duo."
So, if you have heard Väsen before you will get a new experience. If you haven't heard Väsen before you won't know what you are missing!
