How Can You Help
unPlanned to Make a
Greater Impact?
This movie could be a real game-changer - if
enough people see it. |

Education: There have been a number of good, pro-life movies such as Bella, October Baby, and Gosnell. But
unPlanned has, I believe, a great potential to be a real game-changer. You may already know that the movie tells the story of Abby Johnson. She worked at Planned Parenthood and had had abortions herself. But when she sees a child in the womb react to the presence of the suction catheter that would take his life, it suddenly made her realize that a child in the womb really was a living being, not just tissue in the |

process of becoming a baby. The movie shows how Abby was lied to about her pill abortion “gently emptying the womb” and how Planned Parenthood gave its centers quotas for abortions, because abortion was how they made their money, and being a non-profit was “a tax status not a business model”. Planned Parenthood threatened Abby with retaliation, thinking that their well-paid lawyers would find a way to punish her for quitting and standing on the other side of the fence, telling clients what would really happen inside. But their lawsuit only drew more attention to Abby’s story.
Perhaps the most important message that the movie conveys more powerfully than any other is that the pro-lifers treat Abby with love both before and after her conversion. While there are references to one person that dressed up as the grim reaper, the Coalition for Life simply reached out with love to both clients and staff of the center, offering help, caring for the mothers as much as for the babies.
The only message not strongly conveyed is the sorrow and pain that women feel after abortion, and the healing ministries that are available to help them know the forgiveness of Christ and find peace. There is an invitation at the end of the movie offering a text contact for women in a crisis pregnancy, who are post-abortive, or who would like to leave their jobs in the abortion industry.

Prayer: Please, Lord, open the way for this movie to be shown in many more theaters and to be seen by every person who needs to hear the messages the movie conveys. Inspire everyone who is powerfully touched by the movie to readily share their thoughts and actively encourage others to see the movie. Allow this movie to especially reach young people in high school and college, before they make the mistake of trusting Planned Parenthood for information or making a tragic decision for abortion. Help the movie to encourage all pro-lifers to act with love and patience with those who disagree with them.

Action: If you haven’t already seen the movie, see it. If you have, tell your friends about it. Take your pro-choice friends to see it. If your local movie theater is not showing, ask them why not and request that they bring the movie to that theater. Pray that this movie will be seen by every single person who needs to see it. Pray that the messages of the movie will be remembered and acted on, not just talked about for a time and then be forgotten..
