Greetings !
|
As I have eased back on my responsibilites at
World Policy Journal in recent months, I've ramped up many of my other interests and responsibilties.
So quarterly, I'll try my best to bring you up to date on my view of the World, the challenges we are facing, and some thoughts that I've written and spoken about our most intractible issues.
Consider this Volume 1 No. 1.
And for those who haven't followed me diligently on Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn, here's your chance to keep up with my writings & appearances!
If you scroll down, you can find links to all of them....great Beach Reading & Viewing!
Lucky you!!
There are my columns as a member of the
USA Today Board of Contributors.
There is my first column for
CNN.com.
And finally, as some of you may have noticed, I've signed on as the U.S. political commentator for
France 24 TV (both the English and French channels).
Not surprisingly, I've been spending a lot of time in Europe, especially in Paris, where I've found a truly different perspective on the role of the United States and our political campaign than back home.
I am also helping out at
World Policy Journal with a series of
Conversations with interesting and compelling world leaders, ranging from the
CEO of Fiat-Chrysler and Ferrari, Sergio Marchionne, to the Governor of the Bank of Finland and member of the ECB governing board, Erkki Liikanen. At the same time, don't forget to pick up
World Policy Journal itself, especially its Summer and soon the Fall issue!
Finally, I have embarked on a couple of book projects, including my memoirs,
Don’t Shoot, I’m an American Reporter, while expanding my speaking engagements
.
In short, I’ll be looking to new opportunities, taking advantage of my rich career from
The New York Times through CBS News in Paris, to Bloomberg,
Forbes and travels through 82 countries. Perhaps now, my journey will continue with some of you!

Meanwhile, Turner Publishing has brought out a new
Centenary Edition in paperback of my last book,
A Shattered Peace: Versailles 1919 and the Price We Pay Today
. It has a brilliant Foreword by the distinguished editor and commentator Sir Harold Evans, together with my own Introduction pointing out lessons to be learned in today's world, especially the Middle East, as it fractures along lines that should have been apparent a century ago. These lessons are as vital today to President Obama as they should have been to his predecessor 100 years in the past.
In paperback, it is now also a worthy subject for classroom assignment. Teaching materials are available. And I'd be delighted to speak to any class studying my volume!

The global speakers' bureau,
The Lavin Agency, also represents me, so feel free to reach out to the extraordinary
David Lavin if you'd care to hear my views on everything from Global Risk, the latest international crises, and Styles of Leadership, to my own very personal experiences in heart surgery from which I've now recovered quite nicely!

And, the
Society of the Silurians has honored me with my election as first vice president, where I'll also be editing
The Silurian News. I'd encourage all you veteran journos to consider joining! Just ping the illustrious
Mort Sheinman.

Of course, I'd love to hear from all of you, personally or through
twitter @DavidAndelman.
Best regards,
David
