While social media is absent from the toolkit of most negotiators today, it can kill or enhance your deals. Having dug deep into offensive and defensive uses of this digital phenomenon, we’re pleased to announce that our new article – “Dealmaking Disrupted: The Unexplored Power of Social Media in Negotiation“ – has just been published in the Negotiation Journal of Harvard’s Program on Negotiation.
Making wise and ethical decisions in the midst of a technological revolution is challenging for any field. But the relative neglect of social media’s transformative impacts among both scholars and practitioners has left many negotiators to fend for themselves in the face of online disruption. This paper – the culmination of more than a year of research, analysis and exploration – is an attempt to level the playing field, while keeping ethical and privacy concerns at the forefront of our analysis.
While the article is available for purchase from the Negotiation Journal publisher, our agreement allows us to share the paper with friends and colleagues. You can request the full PDF here: https://www.negotiate.com/pdf-download-form/
