During these tumultuous times in which many of us find our worlds shrinking, I would love to invite you to explore with me the journey through space and time that I undertook in preparing for a now-postponed show at the Whyte Museum in Banff, Alberta.
This virtual catalog documents the work for this show, including a 56 foot long piece, and contains an essay written by Lawrence Rinder, currently Director and Chief Curator of the Berkeley Art Museum (BAMPFA) and formerly the Anne and Joel Ehrenkranz Curator of Contemporary Art at the Whitney Museum of American Art. [The best way to see the catalog is to click on one of the links above and then click on the the little square to go to full screen].
Below is one of the images from the show entitled
Time in the Mountains (73" x 59", acrylic on yupo).
The good news is that you should be able to maintain adequate social distance on this journey with me. I hope to be able to see you in person sometime soon.
Yours,
Ilana Manolson
