Great Performances
at Texas All-State Orchestra |
We are extremely proud of two orchestra juniors who auditioned for the Texas All-State Orchestra this month. David James advanced to round two of the audition process on double bass and Marco De La Cruz placed 15th in the state on cello! Both prepared professional level music for their audition and acquitted themselves with character throughout a grueling audition process. Marco will go on to participate in the All-State Orchestra clinic and concert in San Antonio in February. Give these Turner Lions a big congratulations when you see them!

Support Victims of Hurricane Sandy |
Attention Turner Lions- By now everyone has heard about the devastation from Hurricane Sandy all along the East coast. If you have been looking for a way to help out, LOOK no more!!! THOR and CIS have partnered to bring to you “The Penny Bomb”!!! The penny bomb is a fundraising effort with all proceeds going to
The American Red Cross to help those affected by Hurricane Sandy.
THIS IS A COMPEITION BETWEEN COLLEGES!!
How it works… Beginning December 3rd-14th, during your lunch there will be a table set up with containers for each college. Donate ONLY pennies to your college’s container- they count positively towards your total! Donate nickels, dimes, quarters or dollars to the other colleges’ containers- it counts negatively/against their total! So the only way to WIN is to have the most PENNIES and the least silvers & dollars!
The winning college will get free cookies and punch & the chance to PIE their principal in the face!!! This is a fun way to raise money for a VERY worthy cause-LET’S GO LIONS!
|
Take me out to the ball game, take me out to the crowd… Wait! Don’t be a part of the crowd, come out for the softball team!! Softball games might not start until the spring, but NOW is the time to get involved! Whether you’ve played all your life or have always wanted to play, stop by C205 and speak with Coach Hamlin representing Turner on the diamond!
