Usher In The Kingdom of God - On Earth As It Is In Heaven
On earth - a person may not have a lot of possessions, depending on where a person is born or the opportunity available to get an education, but everyone has an opportunity to invest in the Kingdom of God by serving, giving- first of themself and by opening their mouths to testify of the greatness of the Lord, of His saving grace and forgiveness offerred as a free gift to those who will believe.
In the picture above, a young Haitian boy asked to have a picture taken of his only earthly possessions. He didn't have a lot -- but he gave of himself - working very hard every day helping the mission team tear down and rebuild walls of concrete block. He wasn't willing to just be a spectator, but joined in and participated in something worthwhile.
2 Corinthians 5 tells us that every one of us will give an account to the Lord of Heaven regarding what we did to serve Him after He saved us and forgave us. This is sobering to me every time I read it. I can't earn my way into Heaven. Jesus already opened the gate fully and freely to me when I trusted Him as my Savior and Lord. The penalty for my sin was paid for on the Cross. But I will be called to explain what I did with my life out of obedience to the one who gave His all for me. He will then graciously reward those things that were done with right motives for the benefit of the Kingdom of God and for His people. The lost opportunities, the deeds done for my own glory or selfish motives, and the pure times of disobedience will bring an uncomfortable time of regret and loss of reward. I want better things for myself and for all of you. None of us are adequate for these things, but with our God -- no one is too weak and no obstacle is too big for Him to overcome. Let's not be spectators -- but faithful stewards of the Grace of God. Be encouraged -- Be faithful -- Be filled with the Holy Spirit and watch God do amazing things in your life as you trust Him alone.

"Are you going to be available the first three weeks of December? I'd like you to consider joining me in Lira, Uganda to teach and to celebrate the next graduation of Africa Hope Bible Institute."
"I'd also like you to join us as we go to South Sudan and determine whether we should launch another Africa Hope Bible Institute there, plus assist with the planning of a church planting ministry that is being undertaken by former graduates of our school."
This was a recent invitation from my long time friend and Usher In board member, Pastor Gil Harder.
What can I say? Of course, I will pray and if God provides through friends and partners of this ministry -- I will be there.
What a great honor to be part of something that continues to bear fruit in these needy areas of Africa. We have seen our graduates making a significant impact with their training in God's word. We also know that where ever lives are in turmoil, such as South Sudan -- people are hungry for the Good News of Christ.
Won't you pray about investing in this trip. Note 'Sudan' on your gift of any amount made payable to Usher In. You can mail your gift to PO Box 6737; Aloha, OR 97007. |
Gospel Tools - Evangecubes
Receive 1 with a minimum $10 donation and we'll give one free to a Christian in Africa or India
In many of the remote villages of India and Africa - the best tools for sharing the truth of the Gospel are visual tools like the Evangecube. These help explain truth in an understandable way - both for children and adults.
Local Pastors and key lay people who want to share the Gospel can be easily trained to use this tool effectively when combined with God's Word..
Please help us train and provide these tools to hundreds this year.
By faith - we have purchased 100 Evangecubes and with your help can take many to Africa next month.

Prayer Requests
* Our team of 11 from the U.S. will be leaving September 15th for 2 1/2 weeks of evangelism and training ministry in Budo and Kihihi Uganda. Pray for health, safety, strength and a mighty work of God reaching those who don't know Christ.
*Pray for God to move one or more people to contribute a one time gift of $6,000 to build an initial Church building and pay for the first year land lease and pastor's rent. This is a HUGE opportunity to make a big difference in this remote area where thousands of refugees are fleeing to from the Congo. We must have the funds by August 20th to wire them overseas in time. One gift of $6,000 or ten gifts of $600 can make this happen. Please pray about being part of this opportunity.
*Pray for the Usher In board meeting on September 8th, to pray and make plans for the rest of 2012 and 2013.
* Pray for our Uganda Pastor friend James Okori and other graduates of Africa Hope Bible Institute who have been asked to plant several churches near Lira Uganda and in Southern Sudan Pray for wisdom, provision, boldness and safety. Also pray for provision for Bibles and study materials for the Lira Prison ministry. Six hundred prisoners are open and willing to learn from God's Word -- let's help get it to them.
* Pray for Pastors near Kakinada India who continue to be persecuted for sharing the Gospel of Christ in their remote villages. One Pastor was severley beaten a week ago, but survived. Also pray for Pastor Praveen who oversees about 1,000 pastors and does his best to minister to their needs and provide encouragement. He was bitten by a village dog this past week and is in serious pain.
* Pray for monthly support for Randy and Sandy to be able to continue to be part of this ministry to India, Africa and other parts of the world. All gifts are appreciated -- recurring gifts help tremendously.
* Pray for Pastor Elisha, Pastor Sam and Pastor Jonathan in Uganda as they make preparations for the September mission. May God grant them favor as they make appointments in the schools, prepare the conference and many other details.
* Pray for Roshan and Irene who run Happy Home for the Handicapped in India. Pray for their endurance, provision and impact on the 80-120 children in their care - either full time or part-time. Roshan hopes to be in the U.S. soon to get married and then will return with a wonderful life partner to continue the ministry at Happy Home.
* Pray for the Lord to bring many into the Kingdom while the doors are still open. The opportunity may close at any time and we need to get the message of Christ to a lost and hurting world.
* Pray for Woodhaven Community Church (Pastor Brad Brucker) and Esperanza Iglesia En Cristo (Pastor Armando Juarez), as they send teams to Uganda with Usher In. Pray for the continued impact of these 'mission minded' local churches as they invest in missions around the world.
* Pray for provision for Randy to return to Uganda in November to teach at Africa Hope Bible Institute, celebrate another graduation with the students and spend time in South Sudan planning another possible Africa Bible Institute and church planting effort with Usher In director Pastor Gil Harder.

"
But he was pierced for our rebellion,
crushed for our sins.
He was beaten so we could be whole.
He was whipped so we could be healed.
All of us, like sheep, have strayed away.
We have left God’s paths to follow our own.
Yet the LORD laid on him
the sins of us all.
He was oppressed and treated harshly,
yet he never said a word.
He was led like a lamb to the slaughter.
And as a sheep is silent before the shearers,
he did not open his mouth."
(Isaiah 53:5-7) NLT

India Mission 2013
The groundwork has been laid for a team to return to India in the first quarter of 2013 for ministry near Hyderabad and Kakinada.
Funds for this mission will provide tools to minister to those living in the slums, orphans, small rural village congregations and help share the Good News to those who have not heard.
We are looking for a team of up to 10 to join us as we reach out to many who have never heard who Jesus is before and to build up small congregations that often face local persecution.
This mission is open to individuals or church groups that are interested in ministry to India.

Uganda Mission
September 15 - October 2nd
COMING SOON!
Team of 11 from Oregon enlisting prayer supporters!
I am not exaggerating when I say that every mission trip I have been on has come with severe challenges and attacks from our enemy- before even leaving the U.S!
Physical, emotional and spiritual attacks that tested our resolve and trust in tne One who called us to His service. These often intensify as the mission unfolds, but God is faithful.
We will be publishing our team itinerary, prayer needs and updates when possible from the field.
Please consider joining our prayer team and begin praying even now for all that the Lord would do in and through our team and in the lives of our Ugandan brothers and sisters in Christ.

Thank you for your prayers and financial support.
