As we enter the season of Thanksgiving, we are thankful for your faithful support. You have made a huge impact through the little dresses and britches ministry since 2008, and led to big relief through clean water, education and community. Through your generosity we have sent well over 10 million dresses, installed 89 wells, built 3 schools, and distributed thousands of Buckets of Hope. These are just a few of the projects that have made a difference in remote villages in Africa and beyond.
I am so thankful for the volunteers that pack, sort, size and get boxes ready to ship, the short-term teams that have served through the years, and for the work that continues when we are not there. The Malawi Board of Directors works tirelessly all year long, to distribute the blessings that you share. I wish you could meet these incredible people and see how hard they serve.
We are scheduled to send another 40ft shipping container on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022, and in about 3 months it will arrive in Malawi, Africa, to shouts of joy. In addition to dresses, boys shorts and t-shirts, we send bibles, bedding, shoes, school supplies, educational items, garden tools, bikes, wheelchairs and walkers, which will be delivered to our warehouse in Lumbadzi to be distributed in remote villages. There are no words to describe the joy these items will bring. Something as simple as a blanket makes such a difference when given to a widow or a child, whose only bed is the dirt ground.
A favorite project is Buckets of Hope. For $20 we are able to provide a very useful and colorful bucket filled with staples such as oil, sugar, salt, tea, soap, and rice, to a widow or a child who is now the head of a family due to the death of the parents.
A well is a wonderful way to honor a loved one and literally saves lives immediately and keeps girls in school. A well can be sponsored for only $5500 and continues to give clean water for years. Many have sponsored a well as a Family Christmas Offering and receive the name of the village in which their well is installed. General donations for necessary items such as boxes, tape, and electricity, to get this relief to the people of Africa, are always welcome. Anything your heart leads you to give will go directly to the project specified.
You are receiving this update because you have blessed this ministry and we just wanted to say "thank you". We live in a country of abundance and there is no shame in it, as long as we acknowledge our blessings and share them when we can. We are blessed so that we can bless others.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart and enjoy the holidays.
Love,
Rachel O'Neill, Founder and Director
