On September 26, at 10am the ReStore will open at 1025 E US Hwy 223, behind Rally’s. A ribbon cutting by the Chamber will proceed the opening at 9:30am. WLEN will be there to tell the community all about it during their live remote. A free gift will be given with the first 1000 purchases.
After the Grand Opening, the ReStore will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
ReStore Manager, Anthony Sacco said “We could not be more excited for our ReStore to expand and we look forward to better serving our community while supporting Habitat’s mission of bringing people together to build homes, community and hope.”
The Habitat ReStore will be open to the public and is a source to buy appliances, building materials, furniture as well as unique and hard-to-find architectural items at a fraction of the cost of buying new. According to Robin Hinman, Habitat’s Resource Development Director, the ReStore salvaged unique items from more than 10 homes in Lenawee County prior to their demolition in 2014 and list grows for salvage work to be completed before the end of 2015 and into 2016. Additionally, Habitat is partnering with the Lenawee County Land Bank and the City of Adrian as a part of the Blight Elimination grant. Habitat will salvage all usable materials from every home marked for demolition in an effort to save usable materials from ending up in a landfill.
Habitat is grateful to retailers who donate their unused seasonal or back dated stock. If you are a business looking to clear space in your warehouse and support Habitat’s mission, please call Robin at 517-265-6157 or email rhinman@habitat-lenawee.org.
Lenawee County residents can directly contribute to the support of Habitat’s mission by donating new and gently used building materials, tools, appliances, and furniture to the ReStore. Habitat’s drive up donation center is open daily during normal store hours. Pick-up service for larger items is available by calling 517-266-0746.
