Welcoming more new families
Welcome to the Griewahn family. Nancy has lived in Adrian most of her life. She started work as a Candy Striper at Bixby, then worked as a health assistant and now she is a CENA with Comforcare of Adrian.
Nancy has three children and two granddaughters.
Her oldest, Jen is a graduate of MSU and is a nurse at Motts Children’s Hospital. Jen is the mother of Nancy's 6 year old granddaughter Fionna.
Next is her son Eric, he is a Senior Network Engineer with Pinnacle Entertainment in Las Vegas, Nevada. Eric is married to Beatrice, and they are the parents of Nancy's second granddaughter, Eva, and live in Henderson, Nevada.
Her youngest son is Mark, he is a graduate of Concordia University and works as an Operations Manager with Noram in Irvine, California.
Nancy experienced many life-changing, losses including getting divorced after 37 years, being assaulted, losing her job and then moving in with her Father when she couldn't afford to live alone. Nancy said "relying on my faith in God and His great love and compassion for me. One day at a time, He carried me through and showed me the valuable blessing of friendship."
Nancy attends St. John’s Lutheran Church. Her hobbies include sewing, quilting, and gardening. Nancy said "I am very grateful and blessed to be chosen as a Habitat partner family. I look forward to having a place to call Home! A home where I am safe. A home where my children and grandchildren can come stay over when they visit. A place to enjoy daily life. A home where my friends can come celebrate our friendship and my new beginning! A home where I will give thanks to God for His blessings! Thank you to everyone at Habitat!

John and Brenda are members of St. John´s Lutheran Church in Adrian and plan to have their Habitat house dedicated to God by Pastor Joel Sarrault when it is finished. John and Brenda both graduated from Siena Heights University and both hold a Bachelor of the Arts degree. John has plans to enter the pre-seminary program at Concordia University of Ann Arbor in order to enter the seminary at a later date. John and Brenda said "we are both medically disabled so we are very thankful to Habitat for the opportunity they are offering us to help us meet our lifetime goals. This opportunity is but one step in the adventure of life that God is giving us and for the first time in a long time we are looking forward to the journey ahead of us with the joyful hope that only God and our LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ, can provide."
John and Brenda have lived in and rented apartments for all of their adult lives and are looking forward to owning their own home. They say they are very excited about the opportunity to be Habitat homeowner and look forward to the the day their mortgage is paid off.
