The Irish Defence Forces launched The Air Corps Trainee Military Aircraft Technician on Tuesday 9th August 2016.
Successful candidates will graduate with a Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Military Aviation Technology Level 7 (Tech), accredited by the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT).
Closing date for applications: 4th September 2016.
Applicants must at least 18 years of age and under 21 years of age on this date. More.

A group of four contractors (Cleary Doyle / Anthony Neville Homes / Clancy Construction / Mythen Construction) are part of an innovative pilot scheme to boost apprenticeship registrations in the wet trades. The four companies are working together as a co-operative to take on apprentices and ensure that they finish their training.
CIF have also launched a new website (www.apprentices.ie) dedicated to promoting the opportunities available to young people who take up apprenticeships and the careers that are available in the construction sector.

Accounting Technicians Ireland is hosting an Open Day for any students and parents who may be interested in the new Accounting Technician Apprenticeship programme, which launches this September.
There are almost 100 placements with small, medium and large accounting practices and consultancy firms, including EY, Grant Thornton and BDO. Come along to find out more.

Registration is now open for the next round of traineeships in the European Commission (starting in March 2017).
Traineeships are for 5 months, paid (monthly grant of approximately €1,120). Every semester there are about 650 places available.

McDonald’s East Wall Road opened on the 10th August 2016, the company's 90th restaurant in Ireland.
All food is made fresh to order in the brand new kitchen platform which also allows people to customise their orders as they please.
Customers can order their food on digital kiosks which are displayed on the lobby. The restaurant has a Playland area to entertain the children and digital tablets for customers to use.

So TY students, for example, can access a different set of Apps to LC students, or even LCVP students. This facility will be optional for those wishing to use it.

Users will now be able to manage their appointments diary and calendar online.
End-of-year student reports
Students and GCs will now be able to print a summary of the key portfolio items undertaken.

CareersPortal has just launched a newly developed web-based career learning and management tool designed to support Adults with their career planning and decisions, called MyFuture+
The online suite of resources aims to assist individuals to explore themselves in relation to career, education and employment opportunities. Two versions are available:
MyFuture+
FURTHER EDUCATION
This programme is designed for use in colleges/centres of further education where the learners are organised into groups with assigned Tutor/s.
Learners work under the supervision/guidance of their Tutor and staff assigned to career preparation and development. The suite of career tools and resources includes relevant QQI modules as delivered by the provider.
MyFuture+
NEXT STEPS
This programme is designed for use in services and organisations providing one-to-one education and employment support. Clients are assigned to an individual staff member, who uses the resources to support the clients’ career planning and goal setting.
Clients remain on the programme for as long as is necessary for them to be supported in pre-employment and career decision-making processes.
