Finding the Dharma Through Time and Space - Exhibition of Buddhist Manuscripts

Buddha Museum Attends ICOM Kyoto 2019
The triennial General Conference of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) was held in Kyoto, Japan from 1st to 7th of September. Over 4,000 delegates representing 118 museums around the world were converged to participate this conference. A delegation of the Buddha Museum and Osaka F.G.S Temple attended the conference to present an overview of the Buddha Museum to all the council members. Meanwhile, by observing, learning and exchanging ideas of how other museums operate respectively, the representatives of FGS were also there to promote and raise the visibility of the Buddha Museum to the world.

Exploration of Buddhist Texts: Traditional Methods in a Digital World
The Opening Ceremony of Timeless Dharma Treasures Reappearing Exhibition was held at the Great Enlightenment Auditorium of the Buddha Museum. Dr Lewis Lancaster, Professor Emeritus of the University of California, Berkeley, was invited to give a keynote speech on the Exploration of Buddhist Texts: Traditional Methods in a Digital World. Dr Lancaster is not only the forerunner of Buddhist Canon digitalization, he is also the founder of Electronic Cultural Atlas Initiative (ECAI).
