Education: . The Texas ban on abortion makes exception only for abortions which would be necessary to save the life of the mother, or if they risk “substantial impairment of major bodily function.”(1) In October of 2023 we published an email explaining why it was never medically necessary to abort.(2) We made reference to former abortionist Dr. Anthony Levatino, who, for nine years, dealt frequently with extreme pregnancy complications. It was NEVER necessary for him to abort a

baby in order to save a mother.(3) These extreme complications almost always arise after 23 or more weeks of pregnancy, so he would sometimes deliver babies by C-section in order to end the pregnancy and save the mother. Not all the babies survived, but they were cared for and given a chance.
A C-section delivery can be done in minutes, while the procedure for a late term abortion takes 1 to 3 days. To act quickly in an emergency, it would clearly be necessary to perform a C-section, and the Texas law also requires the physician to perform the abortion in such a way as to give the child the “best opportunity for the unborn child to survive” (1), unless that method would threaten the life or a major bodily function of the mother. However, it does not specifically require that the baby be cared for. If the child dies from lack of care, they can simply report that the child did not survive.
In the case of a tubal or ectopic (outside the uterus) pregnancy, Texas law specifically states that an abortion is a procedure “with the intent to cause the death of an unborn child”, and does not include the removal of an ectopic pregnancy.(4) The intent of the removal of a tubal pregnancy is to save the mother from a potentially life-threatening situation. The death of the child is an unavoidable side effect.

Prayer: Dear Father God, please help all citizens to understand that abortion is NOT “health care”. Open eyes and hearts to understand that abortion is only about killing, not healing. Help women with problems related to their pregnancy find real solutions to the problems, not just people wanting to sell them an abortion. Help those with medical problems or a diagnosis of a problem with the child to find doctors willing to work for the health of both mother and baby, rather than recommending abortion as a “solution” to the problem. |

Action: Watch Dr. Levatino’s video, in which he explains why abortion is never needed to save a mother. Tell your friends about it, share it on Facebook. Explain how abortion is NEVER health care – it is a medical procedure used for social purposes – to kill an unwanted child. Support laws that protect children born alive after abortion, and politicians who will work to protect children within the womb as well as after birth.
