Pro-abortion bias in government as well as media.

Education: Articles and social media posts frequently tell lies about pregnancy centers. But government entities also seek to restrict pregnancy center with laws and lawsuits, and maternity homes have also been targeted. In 2016, a California law required pregnancy centers to provide information about the availability of contraception and

abortion at little or no cost.(1) While multiple pro-life individuals have been wrongly prosecuted for violation of the 1994 FACE Act which protects organizations offering reproductive health services, there have been no known prosecutions for 436 attacks on pregnancy centers and churches since Roe v. Wade was overturned in 2022.(2) Illinois (July 2023), California (Sept 2023) and New York (2024) either passed laws or filed lawsuits to stop pregnancy centers from giving false or misleading information on abortion or on Abortion Pill Reversal (APR).(3) APR is in fact, science based, safe and effective.(4) In each case, federal judges, and even the Supreme Court have ruled in favor of free speech for the pregnancy centers. (3)(Compelled speech is also a violation of free speech.)

While the main focus of attacks are pregnancy centers, maternity homes have also been misrepresented as “oppressive”. The article mentions negative comments from former residents, but does not include any positive statements that they are very likely to have received. (5)

Prayer: Dear Father God, please bless the pregnancy centers around the nation and the world who are working to help women with the choice for life. Help them to find the volunteer, staff, and funds they need to provide important services. Please protect these organizations from government actions seeking to restrict their services. Send them your grace and encouragement when they face obstacles and difficult times. Bless Heartbeat, CareNet, and other organizations which support pregnancy centers and help them to grow and improve.

Action: Keep aware of bills being proposed in your state that are targeting pregnancy centers of other pro-life organizations, and work to prevent the passage of such laws.
