Education: Some people deny that they exist, but with over 60 million abortions done since 1973 (or more unreported), some were unsuccessful. Babies survived. Sometimes mom was further along than was thought, and the abortion could not be completed. Others survived saline abortions. Sometimes one twin was aborted and the other survived. They asked if the doctor ever thought about them later, or what kind of pain that they or their twin experienced. One survivor, Melissa Ogden, noted that the day she celebrates as her birthday was actually the day of the attempted abortion.

Live Action has filmed a series of videos (1 ) bringing together people from different sides of the abortion event. Participants have gone through a healing process, and the former abortionists are now pro-life. One video featured 2 former abortionists and three abortion survivors. One abortionist (Dr. Anthony Levatino), had experienced the loss of his daughter. He explained that he didn’t care about the humanity of the child until he saw them as someone’s son or daughter. The other doctor, Dr. Kathi Aultman, said she was focused on the science of how the baby was formed, and how to do the procedure to be safe for the mother. She became pro-life after 2 mothers showed apathy and hostility toward the fetus, while another felt sorrow and misery as she proceeded with the abortion she really didn’t want. She then “finally realized” the connection between the fetus and the baby. (2)
Abortion survivors have been denied and silenced; they are living witnesses of the humanity of the preborn. If there are no abortion survivors, then laws to protect them and require that medical care be given are unnecessary. Instead, many abortion survivors are left to die, or even actively killed. Melissa Ogden (shown above), an abortion survivor, founded the Abortion Survivor Network. They exist to “share stories and data to humanize survivors’ experiences” and “promote policies that protect and serve abortion survivors, their families and friends.”

Prayer: Dear Lord, Bless the individuals who have come forward to tell their stories of abortion. Give courage to others that you are calling to share their stories of having an abortion, surviving abortion, worked in an abortion facility, or witnessing abortion. Inspire many people to view the videos and learn the truth from those who participated in or survived an abortion. Please bless the efforts to spread the truth, and allow them to reach as many people as possible. Help all those who are pro-life to have the courage to share the truth with their friends, coworkers, and neighbors to transform our country into a community who respects the sanctity of life, and has laws to protect those who are vulnerable.

Action: View the face-to-face videos at LiveAction.org/face-to-face. Tell your friends about the videos. Pray that many people will view them, and that other means of spreading the truth will also be successful in reaching many people, and helping many to become pro-life. Pray for the grace and courage to learn how to have effective conversations with your pro-choice friends, making use of videos such as the abortion procedure videos, the the Face to Face videos, and others
