Hello Everybody!
I want to take this opportunity to thank all of the volunteers who made the 2010 Sinister 7 Ultra + Relay a resounding success. The words "thank you" seem to fall short considering the enormity of the challenges that we faced. I have received a number of emails and perhaps the racers, the people this whole thing is really about, can say it best.
"Congratulations to you and your team of wonderful volunteers on putting together this great event. I believe you are EXTREMELY fortunate to get the high number and HIGH QUALITY of volunteers that you get.....every person that I dealt with was professional, courteous, & Friendly! They do your community proud!"
"Just wanted to send a big thank you to you and all the volunteers that helped make my first Sinister 7 a GREAT experience. I love every minute of it. We were 'Play Ruff'" out of Edson, AB. We will definitely be back in 2011."
"I just wanted to mention how enjoyable and challenging the race was. I also wanted to make a comment on how supportive, positive, and
enthusiastic the volunteers were. They were one of the reasons I
managed to finish."
These are just a few of the comments I received and do not capture the verbal thanks that we had at the race. The standing ovation for the volunteers at the awards ceremony was an astounding indication of how greatly the racers appreciated your efforts. Everyone who helped out should take pride in knowing that the Sinister 7 is being called "the best race" out there because you had a part in making it happen.
I hope you will join us next year for our little run in the woods. The date is confirmed for July 9-10, 2011. If you have suggestions about things that racers requested, or ways to make the race run more efficiently, we would be glad to hear them. You were our eyes and ears on the course.
I do not have the email address of every volunteer who was on site, so please do forward this on to your friends who participated but may not be on this list.
Once again, thank you for your help. We are already looking forward to the Sinister 7 2011.
Best Regards,
Brian Gallant + Andrew Fairhurst
