This year has been a major roller coaster ride for everyone.
The year started with 17 new arrivals, 10 were adopted or transferred, and four have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
We have had some major purchases in fertilizer and lime being spread across the pastures and a new round pen for training use. We were able to obtain a few grants and have had donations throughout the year. Most of our Board has been overseas with the military, there has been medical concerns with a few volunteers and staff, and general safety concerns with the changes in life as we know it surrounding COVID-19.
Our herd is mostly stable but there are always a few that require more care.

Roy has been getting wound care since his arrival in April. His wounds covered his entire body at arrival and thankfully he only has two small spots remaining.

These two do everything together... Blue and Gabby are starting to show their age, both are 25. They have lost a considerable amount of muscle mass recently. They are now working through a different feed and hay, and Dr. Myran will continue to monitor their condition.

Thankfully, our hay supplier has plenty of hay for our use and has agreed to store it. Unfortunately, we have 26 burros and horses that are provided free choice hay. We also assist community horse owners with round bales when their horses would otherwise go without.
We are estimating a cost of $6,000 for our herd and $3,750 for the community fund.
Thank you to everyone who has already sent in donations. We could not continue saving lives without support like yours.
