Friends,
We are really happy to share that RISE has been selected as a winner of
OpenIDEO’s Education in Emergencies (EIE) Challenge. They asked: “How might we improve educational outcomes for children and youth — particularly girls — in emergency situations?” Our winning idea is an e-coordination tool that will help to remove barriers to education for refugee children.
RISE is incredibly honored to be one of seven amazing organizations from the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific, the US and the UK that have been selected to share this award. We look forward to joining such a vibrant community of innovators at the intersection of human-centered design and international development.
Winning the EIE Challenge comes with funding from Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) to develop and test our innovation. This initiative is endorsed by
MIKTA, a partnership that brings together Mexico, Indonesia, Republic of Korea, Turkey and Australia to co-amplify one another's international development efforts.
DFAT's InnovationXChange powers the collaboration linkages between grantees, consultative partners, government agencies, academia and philanthropy and is a marketplace where collective eyes are focused on co-achieving global impact.
We are gearing up for a Design Innovation Sprint in Australia next month that will kick-off a pilot in East Africa where we will be testing our software innovation designed to accelerate humanitarian aid for refugee children.
We look forward to having you join us on this exciting new adventure!
