Greetings Senior Scholars members!
Hello again, Senior Scholars. We have begun our spring term and look forward to our weekly opportunities to come together to hear informative and interesting presentations. We hope to provide you additional chances to meet each other, learn together and develop the friendships that make everything more meaningful. Those chances include, of course, our three-day mountain retreat in late April at Wildacres and you’ll learn more details about the program that we plan as the next few weeks unfold. Our Lunch Bunch organizers are planning those get togethers, which will start shortly. |

|
|
Our weekly presentations, of course, have already begun. If you attended our opening session, then you have renewed (or begun) your membership for 2025. If you didn’t and haven’t yet renewed your membership in order to avail yourself of those opportunities, you have three methods to do so, as we detail in these e-mails and on the website. Don’t forget that you’ll need to have your 2025 membership card to attend our meetings.

VOLUNTEER TODAY!
If you haven’t yet finalized and activated your New Year’s resolutions, consider becoming an active volunteer in Senior Scholars. We have urgent need of some capable and interested members for these roles, among others: Second Vice President, a field trip coordinator and a member to help us put out our weekly e-mails to members.

Southern Songs and Stories
Joe Kendrick
Director of Programming and Operations at WCNC
Joe Kendrick grew up in rural Stanfield, NC. He studied journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was able to fulfill his dream of being a disc jockey at WXYC. He volunteered at WNCW soon after graduation. Several years later, Joe was back in western NC and volunteering at WNCW while he started his first business. Though his business grew, so did Joe's
presence on the radio. In order to follow his heart, he sold his business and soon became the morning host slot on WNCW.
