Here's A Simple Way To Identify When & Where
You've Taken Your Photographs
• Make Signs You Print Out From
Your Personal Computer

Hi ,
Have you ever returned home with lots of vacation photos and found that you couldn't figure out their locations and dates?
I'd like to share a simple way to identify groups of photographs with their correct dates and locations. No, this doesn't involve searching for meta data on digital images. It's far more basic.
Here's How:
- Before you leave for your trip look at your itinerary.
- Then, prepare a Word layout as a template. Your design should have a space showing each of your destinations with the date, location, and details of the pictures that will follow.
- Print each sign out on its own single sheet of paper.
Photograph the day's sign as the first shot each morning. Then, take your photos.
At the end of your trip you'll be able to easily organize your pictures.
Good shooting,
Dale

Here's an example of a vacation destination layout.
Once I designed the first sheet, I only needed to change the location wording and date for additional signs.
Tip: Try to use a clear, non-serif typeface like Helvetica Bold. |

|
Have someone hold the sign - or just prop it up - and take a single picture as the first shot in your series for any given day.

Use This Technique For Lens Testing or Camera Comparisons
|
|
Set up your signs using type characters like these. To create
your test chart you'll change the font size of the symbols as I've done here.
Have our pro lab make the same sized photo prints of all the cameras or lenses you're comparing. This will give you a quick, easy way to do your comparisons. (The side-by-side prints will be a far easier way to judge sharpness than flipping back-and-forth from one screen shot to another.)
