August Newsletter

A few of our members have been fishing at the Southern Utah high altitude stillwaters and creeks.

The river and creek fishing can be adventurous!

We have several moving water options in Southern Utah: the upper and lower Beaver River, Clear Creek, Panguitch Creek, the Sevier River and a lot more smaller creeks. All are fishing well this year with the improved snow pack we have received over the last few years.

One of our members is the owner of Circle Valley Anglers. Schedule an outing with him for a good day on moving water.

The Summer insect hatches on the stillwaters are now active.

Explore the fascinating world of stillwater fly fishing. If you are new to stillwater fishing, just need a few pointers or would like to share your skills, please join us for a day trip to one of our many lakes and reservoirs. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources is planning to do a sport fish survey at Fish Lake on Wednesday, August 7th. The targeted species will be Kokanee Salmon. If you would like to help contact Taylor Shamo at tshamo@utah.gov

The September Statewide Clean-up is almost here!

Color Country Anglers has been actively cleaning up litter along the Upper Beaver River and Highway 153. Utah’s public lands, especially in Southern Utah, have grown in popularity. Unfortunately, this has led to more litter. We aim to broaden our efforts by extending the Beaver River Clean-up to include the Lower Beaver River along Highway 21 as well.

When: September 14-15, 2024

This is a Statewide event, held from September 14 thru the 22. You can decide how you would like to help. Click on the link for more information.
