The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources is excited to announce an upcoming viewing event at Fish Lake, situated approximately 40 miles southeast of Richfield. While the exact date and time are yet to be determined, this event will coincide with the fascinating fish spawning period. The approximate dates are, the last week of September to the first week of October. Participants will gather at the boardwalk near the Fish Lake Lodge, where they can observe the mesmerizing sight of fish swimming up Twin Creeks. According to Southern Region Outreach Manager Adam Kavalunas, "Kokanee have only been in Fish Lake for a few years, but they have done really well. The boardwalk provides a great view of the spawning fish." This location is ideal for capturing stunning photos and video clips of the kokanee in their natural environment, making it a must-visit event for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers alike. Stay tuned for more details on the specific date and time!

The September Statewide Clean-up is almost here!
Color Country Anglers has been actively cleaning up litter along the Upper Beaver River and Highway 153. Utah’s public lands, especially in Southern Utah, have grown in popularity. Unfortunately, this has led to more litter. We aim to broaden our efforts by extending the Beaver River Clean-up to include the Lower Beaver River along Highway 21 as well.
When: September 14-15, 2024
Contact us at ccatuut@gmail.com if you would like to join us.
This is a Statewide event, held from September 14 thru the 22. You can decide how you would like to help. For example you can organize a local cleanup on a waterway or trail close to where you live with family and friends and pick up the litter. Please share location, pictures and approximate weights of the litter and trash you remove with us via email: ccatuut@gmail.com

We are currently seeking volunteers to assist teachers in the Escalante and Cedar City areas.
The Trout in the Classroom (TIC) program in Utah is thriving, with 64 participating classrooms currently engaged in this enriching initiative. We are eager to expand the program further into southern Utah and are looking for volunteers who can assist teachers and interact with students. Last year, Enoch Elementary became the first school in southern Utah to join TIC, paving the way for more classrooms to embrace this unique learning experience. If you are passionate about helping young students connect with nature and are interested in starting a TIC program at your local school, we encourage you to reach out to the CCA by email at ccatuut@gmail.com. Additionally, we invite you to watch the informative YouTube video about the Trout in the Classroom program produced by KSL Outdoors, which showcases the benefits and impact of this initiative. |
