A Lawyer’s Guide to Coronavirus Tax Relief
In the month of March 2020, Congress passed three
major pieces of legislation to address the coronavirus pandemic, capped by the
monumental Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. The
Treasury Department, the IRS, the SBA and lenders scrambled throughout the month
of April to implement the provisions of the 880-page bill.
This session will provide a tax analysis of federal and state tax relief
provisions related to the impact of the coronavirus. And, in addition to
PowerPoint slides, a helpful tax relief checklist will also be provided.
Business and individual tax provisions, payroll tax provisions, credits,
interest deduction changes, faster depreciation write-offs, tax return filing
deadlines, and small business loan provisions will all be covered.
