The 2021 Appellate Practice Institute is scheduled for
Friday, February 26th!
This
year’s keynote presentation features Supreme Court and national appellate
advocates in a conversation about “Practicing in the U.S. Supreme Court
in Turbulent and Changing Times.”

Kelsi Brown Corkran, head of the
Supreme Court practice group at Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP and
former law clerk to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and
Deepak Gupta, founding principal at
Gupta Wessler PLLC and skilled appellate litigator, will discuss Supreme
Court practice in the October 2020 term.
The
conversation will cover advocacy before the Court in the era of COVID-19,
the legacy of Justice Ginsburg, the shifting dynamics on the Court following
the confirmation of Justice Amy Coney Barrett, and practical tips on
building and maintaining a national Supreme Court and appellate practice.
Elizabeth G. Bentley, former law clerk
to Justice Sonia Sotomayor and appellate practitioner in Jones Day’s
Minneapolis office, will moderate the discussion.
