Thank you for "Digging Deep"
19 wells in 2019 |

Thank you so much for being here tonight to support our effort to provide clean water. 19 wells in 2019 is an exciting goal, and with your help, there is no doubt that we will reach it.
Little Dresses for Africa has been involved in relief in Africa for 12 years. What started as a simple idea to honor little girls with dresses has grown to a magnificent testimony to how much can be accomplished when we work together. Through the distribution of over 8 million beautiful little dresses we focus on 3 areas: Clean Water, Education and Community.
Clean water is our focus in 2019. In Malawi unsafe water is the only option for most families, especially those in remote villages. Dirty water threatens to steal the lives of children. Our first well was for a little girl named Janet. When we met her, she was six years-old. Picture it: a six year old little girl. Each morning she woke up before dawn, stepped over her sleeping younger brothers and headed out on the dark, and sometimes dangerous, path to draw water for drinking, cooking and washing.
Although she had dreams of becoming a nurse, after walking over five miles to draw water, school was not a priority.
There are countless stories of children like Janet. These children are not statistics; they are little girls and boys with hopes and dreams. How their stories end depends on you.
We were able to put a well in Janet’s Village 8 years ago and it still provides clean water today. The impact of the wells that you are providing through your generosity will be felt for years by thousands of people.
We do not take your help lightly. You have made a tremendous difference. Your donations will impact families and save countless lives. Hygiene and sanitation will improve and diseases will be reduced because of your generosity. Girls, who previously spent hours fetching water from long unsafe distances, will be able to stay in school.
Thank you for your faithful support through the years, as well as here tonight. Together we are changing lives, here and across the ocean. God bless you abundantly.
On behalf of the children,
Rachel O'Neill, Little Dresses for Africa

Many of you were so gracious to help with the food crisis at the Refugee Camp. I am happy to report that we were able to meet their short term need by distributing beans and maize to 500 widows, and distributing clothing to thousands more. The arrival of our 40ft container has resulted in the distribution of plastic sleeping mats at the intake center as well as an abundance of bedding. With the excess money collected and ear-marked for the food crisis, we are addressing the long-term need for a maize mill. We are in the process of assessing its viability and long-term success and will keep you informed. Thank you for responding so quickly to this serious situation. |

We are so honored to welcome international award winning Senior Chief Theresa Kachindamoto of the Dedza District, Malawi, Africa.
Don't let her humble nature or her easy-going spirit confuse you; this is one powerful and life-altering woman of change.
She has been recognized across the world for her stand against child marriages. She has personally taken on the fight to end marriages of young girls and get them back in school. You can verify this through the chiefs that have been fired who did not believe she would follow through. They believe her now.
We welcome her tonight as our keynote speaker and honored guest. Stay strong, Senior Chief, the girls are counting on you! |

Yes, it takes a village to raise a child, to change a distructive pattern, to make great things happen; but it also takes a village to throw a great party!
Huge thanks to the team that help make this party a huge success. We are grateful for the generous sponsors, the party team that went out and spread the word, sold tickets, ads, and got people involved. We are thankful for the behind the scenes people who hauled and carried and addressed and stamped... thankful for the out of state donors who are part of the success with their donation to the BIG DINNER. We are thankful for our outstanding DJ, Low14 and Carole for all she does and the Board of LDFA for their support and encouragement, for Senior Chief Kachindamoto for her inspiration, and of course all of you for your participation and for being here tonight.
