information. (2) Gay couples could produce children biologically related to both “parents” and use a surrogate mother to nurture the child until birth. Women who are cancer survivors unable to produce eggs, or women of any age could produce eggs with their DNA.   

    The first possibility is a motivational factor for the two gay founders of Conception. For whatever reason it is done, the technique treats children as a product to be manufactured rather than a gift from God with the parent’s participation in the creation of a child with the expression of their love.

         A generous supply of eggs from IVG also introduces the possibility producing hundreds of eggs and embryos, then selecting only a few embryos for implantation. The newly formed embryos can be maintained in the lab to the point where it is possible to remove a few cells. Those cells are then used to test for the presence of unwanted extra chromosomes or genes bringing genetic diseases.(3)  But it is also possible to select among the embryos for desirable characteristics, to produce a “designer baby”.  Any selection process would result in large numbers of embryos being destroyed in the process of producing one child who is born.
