Planned Parenthood in teaching their children. Planned Parenthood has been instrumental in producing guidelines and materials that claim to provide “age-appropriate” sex education to children as young as 4 years old. (1)
The Trump administration has changed the application for Title X funds to prioritize programs that emphasize the research on “healthy relationships, to committed, safe, stable, healthy marriages, and the benefits of avoiding sexual risk”. The announcement stressed that grantees could include programs offering fertility-awareness based methods of family planning. Participants will also have to train their staff to respond to threats of child abuse, sexual abuse, domestic abuse and human trafficking. Pro-abortion groups criticized the goals, claiming that the administration is working on taking away birth control and imposing religious beliefs with abstinence-based programs. (2)
Parents have the right to know what schools are teaching their children. In addition to sexuality education, influence is brought to bear in other areas as well. The “best-selling American politics textbook in the U.S.”(3) includes over 20 citations regarding abortion. The book refers to “abortion rights”, and clearly presents liberal judges as expanding the rights of minorities while conservative judges “impose their own political beliefs and policies...”(1)
