Just few days after Thanksgiving, on Dec. 4, you are invited to enjoy a fun social event with your Senior Scholars friends. Nancy Stancill and the Social Committee have made wonderful plans for us at Maggiano’s Little Italy at SouthPark Mall. The plans also include some festive holiday music beforehand from two of our own members, Randy Broome on trombone and Pierce Howard on B flat and Piccolo trumpets. Who knows, they might even have a bit of additional percussion playing with them in the background! “Jingle Bells” or “Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel” anyone? Our luncheon speaker, Mark Washburn, was formerly with the Charlotte Observer and covered the Miracle on the Hudson for two weeks for the newspaper at the time the incident occurred. Since we just held a field trip at the new Sullenberger Aviation Museum this fall, Mark’s presentation will be a nice way to follow up our field trip or hear more about it if you were unable to attend at that time.
